I have created this blog in the hope that owners of the Lombardini LDW 245 JMT engine LDW245JMT might share experiences, issues, solutions and support each other

I am located in Australia and to date have cross referenced fuel and oil filters, water pump impellor, and timing belt. This each is a Fiat based engine and the same as that found in the Alfa Romeo 159, 2.4l turbo diesel.

  1. Greetings,
We have recently purchased a launch.
One of the reasons supporting the decision to purchase, was that it had a Lombardini LDW 245 JMT with "Only" 300 running hours.
We recently had to replace the Damper & to our surprise Some Parts Are No Longer Available.....
We have discovered that the Damper we were after is available from an Alfa Romeo Spare Part.
This we found through numer searching on Google.
Along with other numbers imprinted on the Original Lombardini Damper we located the Alpha Romeo 166 Damper 6 Bolt through 55215574.
We did have to get this Re Machined so that the 6 bolt centre was able to be Compression Fitted back into place $100.00 NZ (Money Well Spent) This has now been refitted.
Next up we now want/need to replace the Alternator Belt (L2440431) Raw Water Pump Belt (L2400-G01) these parts from Transdiesel NZ which need to be sourced from Italy 3 weeks delivery if In Stock.
Gates Belts NZ may be able to offer us alternatives??
Not sure if our model Lombardini has what is known as Limp Mode / Get Home Mode but when we lost all power it gave us a Steady 8 Knots for about 3 nautical miles in order to get back to our Marina. We have not yet trialled the boat yet until we can find replacement belts, and find out more about the above / Idle Spped Reset?.
    cheers

    1. Sorry for the delayed reply. I sourced those belts from a local belt supplier. Just take the old ones in.
